Madush continues to be under the custody of the CID

The CID has been obtaining statements from underworld gang leader Makandure Madush who was arrested in Dubai and deported to the country for nearly 24 hours.

A senior officer noted that under the regulations which are active, he can be detained and questioned.

Samarasinghe Arachchilage Madush Lakshitha alias Makandure Madush who is connected to several crimes including murder, was arrested at the Katunayake airport around 5 am yesterday and handed over to the CID.

According to the passport produced by him, he had appeared as Warnakulasooriya Ajith Eranga, a resident of Gampaha with his birth date denoted as February 20th 1979.

It has been revealed that the passport had been issued on 30th April 2015.

31 individuals were arrested including Underworld gang leader Makandure Madush a party in Dubai on the 5th of February this year.

Amongst the arrested were drug smuggling kingpin, Kanjipani Imran, singer Amal Perera and his son Nadeemal Perera and actor Ryan Van Rooyan.
