A sword and a knife hidden in a well in the village of Madatugama in Kekirawa were found during a special search by the Army yesterday (08) evening.

Our Correspondent said that this sudden search operation was carried out by the Army on information received from a Muslim national of the area that weapons were hidden in a well in Samagi Mawatha, Madatugama.

It is reported that the well where weapons were discovered had been built by a certain Islamic Religious organization.

Subsequent to removing water from the well using a water motor, a search was made at the bottom of the well when the Army succeeded in discovering the sword and the knife.
