Increase in temperatures in several areas

The Meteorology Department informs the people that there will be an increase in temperatures experienced in the Eastern and North-Central provinces as well as the districts of Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi tomorrow.

Due to this weather, dehydration, cramps due to loss of minerals, extreme fatigue as well as heat stroke could occur, it is said.

Therefore, the Meteorology Department says that the Ministry of health has requested people to drink adequate water and remain in shady places as much as possible.

Extra attention should be paid to elders and those suffering from illnesses and small children should not be left alone inside cars, the Meteorology Department warned further.
