Police took into custody and individual riding a motorcycle who did not heed a warning to stop at the Ragama – Welipeella road barrier.

Navy personnel who were on duty at this road barrier last night had signalled the motorcyclist to stop but Navy Media Spokesman Group Captain Isuru Sooriyabandara said at a media briefing held today that he did not heed the warning and continued riding.

Later the Police and the Navy together took the motorcyclist into custody. He is a resident of Batuwatte – Ragama.
