SLFP and SLPP take one stance for national security

The security of the country and the current situation was the focal point of the meeting between the SLFP and the SLPP.

The 4th round of talks between the two parties commenced at 10 am at the Opposition Leader’s office this morning and it continued for nearly two hours.

SLFP General Secretary, Dayasiri Jayasekera, MP Thilanga Sumathipala and former party general secretary, Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa represented the party, while Professor, GL Peries and Lecturer Jagath Wellawatta represented SLPP.

Both parties have agreed to hold the next round of talks on forming a new political alliance on May 30th.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the SLPP Professor, GL Peries stated that both parties were of the same opinion regarding national security.
