A reminder to the Attorney General regarding State Minister Vijayakala from the Court

The Chief Magistrate of Colombo ordered today that the case in connection with the statement made by State Minister Vijayakala Maheshwaran that the LTTE organization should be resurrected be postponed to 26 July.

The Organized Crimes Investigation Division submitting facts to Court in relation to the case said that the Attorney General has not yet issued any instructions as to the future procedures to be followed in relation with the statement she made.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne who accordingly ordered that the case be postponed informed officials to give a reminder to the Attorney General as well.

On 2 July last year, State Minister Vijayakala Maheshwaran declared in Jaffna that the LTTE should be resurrected at a function where several Ministers of the government were also present.
