An individual taken into custody subsequent to a search operation at ‘Virtusa’ Dematagoda

Police said that based on a tip-off received a special search operation was carried out recently at ‘Virtusa’, the Information technology and software manufacturing institution in Dematagoda.  

This place was searched due to suspicion since a Muslim national working in the institution had not reported for work for two weeks after the bombings.

It is reported that police dogs were used in the search of the building and a drone and a remote control belonging to the individual were found.

Subsequent to the search, a person named Mohammed Akram was taken into custody.

Information is reported that after this incident, the area where the institution was located was also subject to inspection.
