A ‘dasa-sil’ maatha killed in a fire

A ‘dasa-sil’ matha or someone who follows ten precepts has been killed in a fire that broke out at a house on 4th Lane – Aandhaadola – Ambalangoda.

Police said the deceased was 73 year old and a resident of Morotuduwa – Wadduwa.

The fire had suddenly erupted when this person had been inside the house last night.

Although the ‘dasa-sil’ maatha was rescued from the fire and admitted to the hospital it is reported that she had already succumbed to her injuries.

Several bottles of kerosene oil and a lamp were found in the room where she had been sleeping.
