Police received a 72-hour detention order to question the two close associates of Zahran Hashim today.

The two suspects were arrested from Weerachola village in Horowpotana.

They were produced before the Kebithigollewa magistrate today.

Investigations revealed that the two suspects were serving as a principal and a vice principal of two Muslim schools in Kebithigollewa.

In addition, the investigations revealed that the two suspects have organized Zahran Hashim’s lectures in Horowpotana and handled money for the construction of Jamath Organization mosques in the area.

The suspects have also revealed that they maintained close contact with the Cinnamon Grand suicide bomber.

They have disclosed the details of another 18 persons who attended the lectures given by Zahran.

Meanwhile, the 10th suspect who was arrested from the Copper Factory at Wellampitiya, Karuppiah Rajendran Abdul was further remanded until May 30th.

The suspect was produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate, Priyantha Liyanage today.

This copper factory was owned by the Cinnamon Grand suicide bomber, Mohamed Ibrahim Insaf Ahamed.

The other nine suspects arrested along with the 10th suspect were released by the Additional Magistrate on a previous occasion.

In addition, another suspect who fled the copper factory, after the Easter Sunday attacks, was arrested at Hingula in Mawanella.

He was also remanded until May 30th by the Colombo Additional Magistrate, Priyantha Liyanage today.

The suspect has confessed to police that he maintained close contact with the Cinnamon Grand suicide bomber, Mohamed Ibrahim Insaf Ahamed.

Meanwhile, another suspect with direct links to the Easter Sunday bomb attacks has been apprehended in United Arab Emirates.

The ongoing investigations have revealed that this suspect has aided and abetted Mohamed Rizwan who was arrested at Mabola Wattala recently.
