JVP handed over its no-confidence motion against the government to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya this morning.

There are 6 charges made against the government in the no-confidence motion.

Among them are the government's failure to take steps to prevent the Easter Sunday attacks despite the Prime Minister and his Cabinet were aware of the attacks beforehand, failure of the prime minister and his minister to admit the responsibility of the security lapses and making contradictory statements after the bomb attacks, certain ministers pressurizing the investigations being conducted against the perpetrators of the bomb attacks and the failure to rebuild the already collapsed economy.

Meanwhile, the UNP parliament group is scheduled to meet to discuss the no-confidence motion against Minister Rishard Baduideen.
