Purpose of the JVP No-Confidence Motion? – Podujana Peramuna

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna says that the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna is bringing in a no-confidence motion against the government to strengthen the already weakened United National Party.

Member of Parliament Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena made this comment at a media briefing that was summoned today in Colombo.

The Parliamentarian also said at the media briefing that the United National Party is expressing various views on the Counter-Terrorism Bill.

Meanwhile, the leader of the National Freedom Front, Wimal Weerawansa met His Eminence Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith this morning to discuss the prevailing situation in the country.  

On this occasion, Wimal Weerawansa had presented an original copy of the book written by him, ‘Thrastha Praharaye Nopenena Eththa,’ to the Archbishop.
