The person who attempted to bribe the Horowpathana OIC, remanded again

The individual who was taken into custody when he tried to bribe the Officer-In-Charge of the Horowpathana Police Station with Rs.

250,000 to get an associate of the Leader of the National Thowheeth Jamath organization Zahran Hashim released, has been remanded again until the 4 of next month.

That was when the suspect was produced before the Chief Magistrate of Colombo Lanka Jayaratne today (21).

During search operations that were carried out subsequent to the Easter Sunday attacks the suspect named Abdul Mohammed Niyaz who was an associate of Zahran was taken into custody on 4 May.

The 26 year old suspect had tried to bribe the OIC of the Horowpathana Police asking him to say that he had no objection to releasing of this individual on bail at the next hearing of the case.
