Member of Parliament Kavinda Jayawardena has resigned from the Special Parliamentary Select Committee which was appointed to inquire into the Easter Sunday attacks and the allegations against Minister Rishard Bathiudeen.

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya informed the names of members of this Committee to Parliament yesterday.

This Committee under the Chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri comprises of 12 members.

Ministers Rauff Hakeem and Ravi Karunanayake and United National Party Parliamentarians Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, Aashu Marasinghe, Dr. Jayampathy Wickremaratne and Parliamentarian, Member of the Tamil National Alliance M. A. Sumanthiran were proposed as members of this Select Committee.

Anyhow, Parliamentarians from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in the Opposition yesterday rejected representing this Committee.
