The elephant that fell into an agricultural well

A wild elephant calf has fallen into an agricultural well last night (27).

Residents of the area said that this calf that had fallen into the well, would have been among a herd of elephants that invaded the village yesterday night.

 Area residents had informed Galayaya wildlife officers that elephants had invaded their village last night.

Subsequently the wildlife officers had come and attempted to chase away these wild elephants when the calf had fallen into the well.

Our Correspondent said that an operation to free the elephant calf is underway in a joint effort by the wildlife officers and residents of the area.
