A woman who deceived people by putting advertisements on the internet that she will provide jobs in Canada has been taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau, investigations unit.

She is a resident of Greyline Park in Ekala and it has been revealed that she had been running an illegal foreign employment institution in Borella as well.

The investigating officers took into custody a number of agreements to send persons to Canada and stock of application forms.

During questioning she revealed that she had been working under another person.

Accordingly, investigations are underway to take that person into custody as well and the suspect was remanded until 7 of next month.
