The All Ceylon Private Bus Companies Federation says that several bus companies have decided not to run their buses from midnight on 5 June.

At a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday, the General Secretary of the Federation Anjana Priyanjith said that buses incurred heavy losses after the Easter Sunday attacks and although a discussion was held with the Ministry of Finance to obtain relief of three months regarding payment of lease instalments, there has been no response as yet.

Accordingly if the Ministry of Finance does not respond within 7 days to the demands made, he said that they will halt operating of buses.
