Wildlife officials treat an elephant with gunshot wounds

Wildlife officials have treated a wild elephant with gunshot wounds near Somawathiya.

It is said that this elephant’s back left leg had been shot and that the elephant was about 25 years old.

Wildlife officials of Giritale and Shrungavila have begun treating the wounds on the elephant’s leg created by someone shooting at it.

They have said that it will take several days for the wound to heal.
