A new circular has been issued by the Ministry of Public Administration and Disaster Management regarding clothing of state officials in order to ensure security at office premises belonging to the government.

It was issued to Ministry Secretaries, Chief Secretaries of Provinces and heads of Departments.

Accordingly, while on duty during working hours, male officers should be clad in shirt and trouser or national dress and female officers should be in either sari or osari.

In the circular it is stated further that those officers who received clothing allowances or allowances for uniforms already, should be clad in those clothes during duty hours.

Anyhow, pregnant women can come to work in comfortable, suitable clothing.

It is also mentioned in this circular that officers who have their clothing prepared according to religious rituals could use an additional covering so that the face is completely visible in a manner that identification is possible.
