With the Easter Sunday bombings, 2289 persons have been taken into custody

With the series of bombings that took place on Easter Sunday, 2289 persons have been taken into custody up to now.

Police Media Spokesman, SP Ruwan Gunasekera said that they have been charged with terrorist activities and behaving in a violent manner etc.

Accordingly, 423 individuals have been remanded and another 211 are being detained by the Police and questioned, the Police Media Spokesman said during a media briefing held in Colombo today.

In addition, 1655 individuals have been released on bail as of now.
