3 years since the Salawa explosions.Claims that problems still have not been resolved.

Its been three 3 years since the Avissawella- Kosgama Salawa ammunition storage explosion.

However, the Salawa peoples collective note that the government has failed to resolve the issues of the victims so far.

Owing to the explosion that took place in the Salawa Army Camp Ammunition storage on the 5th of June 2016, 1 individual was killed at 47 were injured.

300 houses in the area were completely destroyed owing to the blast, which were reconstructed by the Army.
