The Sri Lanka Public Utilities Commission says that during the past 6 years, the number killed due to electricity has decreased by 50 percent.

The Commission said the number of deaths due to electricity last year was 89.

The reason for this decrease is the extensive actions taken for protection from electricity.

According to data last year among the most number killed due to electricity are males.  As a percentage it is 83.

The Sri Lanka Public Utilities Commission further said that the most number of deaths due to electricity have been reported from the Southern Province.
