A foetus which the mother had rejected found near a canal at Nedimale

A well grown foetus was found near a canal at Sumindu Rajapaksa Mawatha, Nedimale in Dehiwela.

A group of workers of the Dehiwela-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council had seen this foetus and informed the police this afternoon.

Subsequently the Acting Magistrate of Mount Lavinia had carried out the Magistrate’s inquiry and the foetus had been taken to the Kalubowila Hospital.

It has not yet been revealed who the mother of the infant is or who brought this foetus and dumped it here.

Police Investigations have been launched into the incident.
