A series of programmes on behalf of Poson in schools island wide

The Ministry of Education has decided to launch a series of programmes in schools island wide on behalf of the upcoming Poson festival.

A circular in relation to this has already been issued and Provincial Education Secretaries, Provincial, Zonal and Division Education Directors as well as Chief Incumbents of Pirivenas and Principals have been informed about this.

This series of programmes will be implemented from 12 to 16 June.

School premises are to be decorated with Buddhist flags in commemoration of the Mahindagamanaya on the 12th. Also, schools have been informed to implement programmes to provide help to destitute persons and a Sil campaign to be held on the 14th.

In a statement issued the Ministry of Education has requested that both Aamisa and Prathipaththi Poojas be held on 15th and 16th.
