Hearing of the revised bail application filed by Attorney General against former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and IGP Pujith Jayasundara who has been sent on compulsory leave has been postponed until the 1st of August.

The hearing of the revised bail application commenced in the morning in the Colombo High Court presided by justice Vikum Kaluarachchi.

Our correspondent said that the former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and Inspector-General of Police Pujith Jayasundara who has been sent on compulsory leave attended the hearing of the revised bail application.

The Attorney General filed the revised bail application on the 18th mentioning that it was illegal, unjust, unfair and arbitrary to release them on bail.

HEMASIRI FERNANDO AND POOJITH JAYASUNDERA APPEAR BEFORE COLOMBO HIGH COURT

Former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and Inspector-General of Police Pujith Jayasundara who has been sent on compulsory leave are currently in Colombo the High Court attending the hearing of the bail revision application filed against them.

The Attorney General filed the revision application on the 18th mentioning that it was illegal, unjust, unfair and arbitrary to release them on bail.

Former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and Inspector-General of Police Pujith Jayasundara were released on bail on the 9th of this month by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.
