Eight suspects including Niraj Roshan alias Ali Roshan, who was accused of keeping 5 elephants in their possession without valid permits including illegal elephant trading were remanded until the conclusion of the case.

The case was taken up before the three-member Special High Court Trial-at-Bar Bench today. Indictments were served on the accused.

The lawyers requested the suspects to be granted bail with suitable bail conditions since they have already been released on bail previously.

The court inquired from the petitioners and the Deputy Solicitor General, who appeared on behalf of the Attorney General, did not approve and requested that the defendants be remanded until the case is over.

Accordingly the court ordered to postpone the hearing until the 2nd of August.
