Seven of the nine Ministers who resigned from their Ministerial portfolios have decided to discuss further regarding accepting ministerial portfolios.

It is reported that these seven Ministers were to be sworn in today before President Maithrapala Sirisena into the same portfolios they held prior to their resignation.

Rauf Hakeem and Rishard Badurdeen were former Cabinet Ministers while Faiasal Qasim, H.M.M. Haris, Amir Ali and Alsahir Moulana were State Minsters and Abdul Maharoof was a deputy Minister.

However they met in Colombo last evening and discussed regarding accepting the ministerial portfolios.

At the discussion they decided to meet again next Sunday to make a final decision due to several unresolved issues.

Nine Muslim parliamentarians  resigned from their Ministerial portfolios in support of the on-going investigations into the aftermath of the terrorist attack on Easter Sunday.

On a previous occasion Kabir Hashim and Abdul Haleem were sworn in to the Cabinet portfolios they held prior to their resignation.
