Muslim parliamentarians, including Rishad Bathiudeen who resigned from their posts are to be sworn in to the Ministerial Portfolios tonight.

According to political sources, the swearing-in will take place before the President around 7 pm.

The Muslim parliamentarians who resigned from their posts met the Prime Minster yesterday and had a discussion with the Home affairs Minister Vajira Abeywardena this morning.

The meeting was at the official residence of the Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government Vajira Abeywardena at Gregory’s Road.

It is reported that Rishad Bathiudeen attended this meeting.

According to political sources they were able to arrive at consensus at the discussion

Lengthy discussion has taken place regarding providind a Divisional Secretariat for the much disputed Kalmunai North area.

Meanwhile speaking at a media briefing in Colombo today, Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpillai stated that if Rishad Bathiudeen is to take up a Ministerial Portfolio  he will issue another no confidence motion against him.
