The Department of Meteorology states that increased showers are expected in the South Western part of the country within the next few days.

The Department of Meteorology stated that heavy rainfall of more than 75 mm is expected in the Western, Central, North Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.

The wind speed could increase up to 70 to 80 kmph during the next 24 hours in the Northern and Central Bay of Bengal and in the Northern and Central Arabian Sea.

Therefore, the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources said that it would be dangerous to engage in fishing and naval activities in the North and Central Bay of Bengal until next Friday and in the Northern and Central Arabian Sea until next Sunday.
