Skeletal remains of a person who had been missing for several months have been found in the Chapelton tea estate in Bogawantalawa.

The police stated that the disappeared person was a 42-year-old father of three and a resident of the Kotiyagala estate in Bogawantalawa.

The skeletal remains have been found as a result of an extensive investigation conducted through the mobile phone of the missing person and a woman has been arrested on suspicion.

This is since the woman was in possession of the missing person's mobile phone.

However, she has stated that she had picked up a mobile phone that was ringing when she was working in the plantation.

She had stated that she had taken the mobile phone as there was nothing suspicious about it.
