United National Party member of the Wennappuwa Pradeshiya Sabha, Dulakshi Chamodari Fernando and her elder sister have been remanded until the 30th of this month for obstructing the duties of police officers at the Ceynor junction in Wennappuwa.

When the suspects were produced before the Marawila Magistrate's Court today, the judge ordered the councilor’s father and her younger sister to be released on bail.

The councilor’s younger sister was arrested by the police last night while riding a motor cycle high-speed without a rider’s license and other permits. Later, the Pradeshiya Sabha member, her father and elder sister who came there, had obstructed the duties of the police officers.
