Sri Lankan Airlines incurs 240 billion rupee loss in 10 years

The COPE report that was presented to parliament today says that Sri Lankan Airline has incurred a loss of 240 billion rupees from 2009 to 2019.

COPE chairman Sunil Handunnetti presented the report which referred to the procurement of eight A-350 and A-900 aircraft in 2013 and 2014.

The same report further states that the company has incurred another 116 billion rupee operation loss by now.

In addition, due loans by the national carrier to State banks and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation are at 146 billion rupees.
