Security has been tightened in all major cities of Tamil Nadu, according to an alert issued by their intelligence services regarding a group of terrorists who have migrated from Sri Lanka.

The Indian media reported that the intelligence agencies have warned regarding a terrorist group affiliated to Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Toib that has entered Tamil Nadu by sea.

According to intelligence reports, a Pakistani national and five Sri Lankans of Tamil and Muslim origin have migrated from Sri Lanka to various cities including Tamil Nadu and Coimbatore.

The security forces in Tamil Nadu have taken steps to increase security at airports, railway stations, bus stops and religious places of worship.

Indian media reported that roadblocks have been increased in the Coimbatore area and that vehicles are being subjected to heavy security checks in the border areas as well as in the urban areas.
