The Most Revd Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, England, who arrived in the island this morning, visited the St. Sebastian's Cathedral in Katuwapitiya that was attacked by terrorist on Easter Sunday.

The Hiru correspondent said that the relatives of those killed and the wounded in the terror attack on 21st April met the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith and several ministers were present during his visit.

Archbishop Justin Welby, who will be in the island till the 31st will meet Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Minister of Christian Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office this afternoon.

The government information department stated that the Archbishop of Canterbury is scheduled to meet with the Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa at his official residence after the meeting with the PM.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby is also scheduled to visit the Dalada Maligawa in Kandy tomorrow morning and meet with the Chief prelates of Asgiriya and Malwatte Chapters.
