The Met Department forecast rains to intensify in the next few days.

The highest rainfall of 192 millimetres during the last 24 hours ended at 6 am today was reported from Nuwara Eliya.

At the same time, the Irrigation Department stated that the water levels of Kelani and Kalu rivers, as well as Attanagalu Oya, have increased.
