Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake has issued an order to 13 factions including disabled soldiers engaged in a Sathyagraha preventing them from entering 8 state institutions including the Presidential Secretariat.

This was subsequent to considering a report submitted by the Fort Police to the Court.

Accordingly, entering the official residence of the President, Temple Trees, the Prime Minister’s office and the Ministry of Defence, as well as other government institutions, have been prohibited.

Meanwhile, as a result of a protest march by employees of the Sri Lanka Transport Board engaged in a strike demanding that they be paid the Rs. 2500 allowance which was increased to public employees, the Galle Face access road has been closed from the Fort – Lotus roundabout.
