The police have stated that there is no truth into the rumours that have been spreading stating that there is a suspicious vehicle parked near a Catholic church in Mattakkuliya and a suspicious parcel near a school in Miriswatta, Gampaha.

The Police is requesting the public not to be deceived by such false rumours.

Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera stated that inspections have been carried out pertaining to the information that a suspicious vehicle was found near a Catholic Church and a suspicious parcel in a nearby school in Mattakkuliya.

Investigations have revealed that the car had been parked by the owner last night due to a technical fault of the vehicle.

The Army Media Spokesman Major General Sumith Atapattu stated that the Army had conducted and inspection based on the rumour that there was a suspicious parcel near a school in Miriswatta, Gampaha. He said that there was nothing found in the parcel.
