Views and opinions were expressed at several media briefings which were held in Colombo today with regard to the proposal which is expected to be presented by several countries including the U.S against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council Session in Geneva.
Participating at the media briefing which was organised by the Inter Religious Organisation for National Peace in Colombo today, Chancellor of the Sabaragamuwa University Professor Venerable Kamburugamuwe Vajira thero stated that the U.S is presenting this proposal to the Human Rights Council in order to take revenge from Sri Lanka.
Participating at this media briefing, the Co-Chairman of the Inter Religious Organisation for National Peace Reverend Father Sarath Hettiarachchi stated that the nation should rise together against this challenge.
Meanwhile, participating at this opening ceremony of the new play ground of Nalanda College in Colombo today, Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardana too expressed views with regard to the proposal which is expected to be presented at the UN Human Rights Council against Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, the National Intellectual Professionals Union had convened a media briefing in Colombo today.
Secretary of the Union Lecturer at the Open University Dr Rohan Fernando expressed these views regarding the proposal against Sri Lanka.
