Sri Lanka’s Special Envoy on Human Rights Mahinda Samarasinghe stated that unlike the Darusman report the evidence noted down by the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission are justifiable.

The Minister also stated that there is no justification in moving a resolution at the UN Human Rights Council against Sri Lanka at a time where steps have been taken to implement the recommendations made by the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission.

This was addressing the 19th Session of the UN Human Rights Council Session.
