The Opposition Leaders Office stated that if someone challenges the internal affairs of the parliament it is an act of violating parliamentary privileges.
In a communiqué issued it was stated that the Opposition Leader notified the Speaker of parliament as well regarding the matter.
The injunction order issued preventing the Colombo Mayors residence from being sublet or leased out was also mentioned in his letter.
The Opposition Leaders office also stated that a letter sent by the Opposition Leader to the Speaker of Parliament had also been attached in the petition that was filed.
The communiqué issued by the Opposition Leaders office further stated that without prior notice from the parliament its internal matters cannot be used in court.
Meanwhile, the Opposition's Objection Movement headed by the UNP held a media briefing in Colombo today.
