The Sri Lankan delegation in Geneva is due to hold an open discussion today.

Head of the delegation Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe speaking to our news team stated that they have requested for a separate location within the Human Rights Council compound to hold this discussion.

He added that discussions will be held with representatives of African nations and 53 Muslim countries today as well.

Today is the 4th day of the 19th Geneva Human Rights Council sessions.

According to our special correspondent in Geneva Shamindra Ferdinando, a speech by an American representative which was in the program for today had been removed last evening.
