Twenty-two Indian fishermen who were arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy have been released along with five fishing boats yesterday.
Navy Media Spokesperson Commander Kosala Warnakulasooriya stated that they were handed over to the Indian Coast-Guard.
These fishermen were arrested after having ventured into the sea for fishing on February 25,
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Navy has also taken measures to provide transportation facilities to pilgrims who will be attending the Kachchathivu St.Anthony’s Feast which will be held on the 04th of this month.
The navy spokesperson added that additional vessels will be used for this purpose.
