The Government of India had responded yesterday to the request made by a Tamil Nadu political party to support the proposal which will be brought against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights session in Geneva.
The Tamil Nadu DMK party and Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jayaram had requested from the Central Government of India to act against Sri Lanka at Geneva.
The DMK party had approved a proposal to support the proposal which the U.S, France and Norway prepare to present against Sri Lanka alleging that it had violated human rights.
The Leader of the Parliamentary Group of Karunanidhi’s DMK party T.R. Balu had also handed over a letter the Indian Prime Minister with this regard.
The Spokesperson of the DMK party T.R. Balu had stated to ‘The Hindu’ newspaper Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh had assured to discuss with regard to his requests with the Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna.
He had further stated that the Indian Prime Minister had assured to address the DMK party following it.
