The United National Party states that the country could face many dangers due to the continuous delay of the government in implementing the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission.


Participating at a public meeting which was held in Kandy yesterday, United National Party Parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella stated that allegations are raised at the Geneva Human Rights Summit not against the country but against the government.



We spoke to the Head of the Sri Lankan delegation that participated at the UN Human Rights Council session Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe with regard to these allegations raised by the United National Party.

 

In response to these allegations, Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe stated that the United National Party is raising such allegations with the objective of gaining political advantages.
