A group of Christian clergy in northern Sri Lanka has written to the UN Human Rights Council to act decisively to enable Sri Lanka to move towards genuine reconciliation.
Mannar Bishop Rayappu Joseph confirmed the fact to our news team.
In a letter dated March 01st to the President and all members of the UNHRC, the Christian clergymen say they believe it is an independent international body that could best address concerns of truth seeking and accountability.
They ask the UNHRC to call on the Sri Lankan government to implement LLRC recommendations as well.
Meanwhile, we inquired from JHU Media Spokesperson Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe regarding these steps taken by Christian clergymen.
