A large stash of medication that could be used as an intoxicant has been taken into custody.
The medicine had been stocked at a private pharmacy at a super-market in Colombo and was due to be sold to students during the Big Match season.
The National Cosmetic Devices and Drugs Regulatory Authority raided the super-market on a tip received from the general public.
Accordingly 650 bottles of Corex-D and 3000 Tremadol tablets were taken into custody.
The Health Ministry statement regarding this matter states that legal action will be taken against the company that owns the pharmacy and their license has also been cancelled.
