Indian Foreign Minister S M Krishna states that two factors will be taken into consideration when India considers its stance regarding the resolution put forward against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council.
He stated that the relationship between India and Sri Lanka as well as the relationship between the Indian central government and the Tamil Nadu government will be taken into consideration.
The Foreign Minister made these comments answering questions posed by journalists at the airport while on his way to Singapore.
Indian media reports indicate that journalists attempted to question the foreign minister further but he refrained from commenting further.
Meanwhile, a journalist raised a question regarding the two letters sent by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jeyaram.
Jayalalitha had previously mentioned in a letter to the Indian government that she is against Sri Lankan VIPs visiting Tamil Nadu without prior notification.
In response, the Indian Foreign Minister stated that the central government will also look into this matter.
