The Ministry of Health has decided to temporarily suspend the admission of infants to the Premature Infants’ Unit of the Mahamodara Hospital in Galle.

Issuing a communiqué, the Ministry of Health stated that as at present there are 07 premature infants at this Premature Infants’ Unit while it has been decided to suspend the admission of other infants until these 07 premature infants are discharged from the hospital.

It has also been decided to repair this Premature Infants’ Unit completely.

It is reported that the Ministry of Health has decided to admit the premature infants who are born within the duration of nearly 1 month which would take to repair this Premature Infants’ Unit to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
