The Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe states that the government should treat all people including fishermen equally.

The Opposition Leader pointed out the government ministers who came into power with the votes of the fishing community has forgotten the fishermen today.

The United National Party took measures to provide a scholarship until higher education for the two children of Anthony Fernando who died during the recent fishermen’s protest in Chilaw.

The Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe expressed these views during a function which was held today with this regard.

Meanwhile, fishing vessels and boat engines worth 450 thousand each were distributed to 03 fishermen who were injured during this incident.
