The Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe questions whether the government does not have any sympathy towards the general public.
The Opposition Leader made this statement at a party activists’ meeting which was held at Thotalanga in Colombo last evening.
Meanwhile it has been decided to call for an explanation from UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa who had expressed views to the media outside the party's stand with regard to the proposal against Sri Lanka submitted at the Geneva Conference.
This call for an explanation is scheduled to be made at the next working committee meeting.
At the working committee meeting held earlier several party seniors had been given time till 23rd for making their statements about the subject.
However, a party senior told our news team that a false attitude was being created to the effect that there were two opinions within the UNP as a result of the statements made by Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa going outside the party stand.
The party senior said further that therefore it had been decided to call for an explanation from Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa.
