The Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh states that the Government of India has not yet decided on satisfying the requests made by the Tamil Nadu parliamentarians.
The Indian Prime Minister had made this statement in response to a request made by the Tamil Nadu parliamentarians of the AIADMK and DMK parties to vote against Sri Lanka at the Geneva Human Rights Council session.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh forwarded a letter yesterday to the Leader of the DMK Karunanidhi with this regard.
In his letter, the Prime Minister had also pointed out that the Government of India is making a successful intervention to solve the issues faced by the Sri Lankan Tamils.
The Prime Minister pointed out that India does not want to deepen confrontation and mistrust between the concerned parties but is engaging with all parties in an effort to achieve an outcome that is forward looking.
However, the Indian Prime Minister had further pointed out that this intervention will continue in order to solve the issues of the Sri Lankan Tamil community.
